Soakency Sound Healing
ABOUT ME
Donna is an Associate Acutonics Practitioner with the addition of being a certified Gong player, sound and Reiki healer. She is a member of the Complimentary Medical Association in the UK. As well as studying with The Acutonics® Institute of Integrative Medicine she has also studied under Debra Kaatz in Cornwall (author of Characters Of Wisdom, Spiritual Acupuncture, Wild Flower Plant Spirits and Sacral-Cranial Touch).
She combines these skills and knowledge within her own sound healing practice with Acutonics taking centre stage, with the belief that the human body can heal given the right circumstances.
From the hectic pace of running a PR/Marketing agency and teaching at the University of Arts, she began to seek a slower pace of life, realising the need to prioritise health and spirit and to spend more time in nature and expressing her own creative talents. Donna creates artworks in her studio in Scotland using watercolours, oils, collage, mosaic and the odd bit of wood carving. Akin to the therapeutic benefits of Acutonics and sound, our connection to art is creatively evolving, pushing the psyche and subconscious boundaries – it is limitless.
Donna’s sound healing practice is located in an idyllic 18th Century cottage surrounded by woodlands, rivers and a plethora of wildlife in Scotland’s lowlands on the border of Cumbria and Scotland. She offers up her home to retreats and stays, combining treatments in Acutonics and sound therapy with making art and nature walks with the purpose to deliver relaxation for the body, mind and spirit.
Her intention is simple: to create meaningful and heartfelt healing experiences to deliver harmony to the nervous system & restore the body’s equilibrium to regain vitality and peace.
The name SOAKENCY was chosen as a play on phonetics - SOAK AND SEE - imagine bathing in sound and seeing oneself heal through the application of sound on and through the body.
The goal of Sound Healing is to use vibrational frequencies specifically attuned to promote relaxation. If you have ever felt overstimulated or over-stressed by a harsh or chaotic environment, think about how good it feels when you step away from that jarring stimulus and replace it with something soothing. Sound waves, provided by sound tools applied directly to the body, can be a powerful agent in creating this transformation. When your body begins to relax, the healing process can begin.
